 Double D-Ring Belt made with 2 inch Heavyweight Polypropylene Webbing. Heavyweight polypropylene webbing 2 inch has a breaking strength of 1800 pounds with a thickness of 0.06 of an inch. Metal and Plastic D-Rings are not rated.
If used other than belts, keep in mind the characteristics of the different types of webbing.
Double D-Ring Belt made with heavyweight polypropylene webbing are suitable for medium duty applications. However, polypropylene does not have good abrasion resistance, so it is not recommended for use against rough edges.
Double D-Ring Belt made with flat nylon webbing is the webbing of choice for high abrasion applications. It is not recommended for use in or around water continuously because it is less water resistant, making it susceptible to mildew and rot.
Double D-Ring Belts made with polyester webbing has the same attributes and characteristics as patterned polyester. Strapworks' polyester webbing is also sublimated, but is sublimated in solid colors. Polyester has all of the benefits of Flat Nylon, high breaking strength, high abrasion resistance, soft, smooth, and shiny. It also has the benefits of polypropylene, low water absorption, high UV protection, and it is also mildew and rot resistant.
Strapworks’ "Patterned Polyester" is polyester that has been sublimated. Sublimation is a process that virtually tattoos the ink into the webbing by turning a solid ink into a permeating gas. This process is done in house and it allows for great detail and vivid custom colorfast colors. Polyester is the only material we carry that is consistent in its ability to be sublimated.
Belt sizes are as follows:
- Regular:.....up to 38 inch waist (48 inches in length)
- Large:........up to 48 inch waist (60 inches in length)
- XLarge:..... up to 60 inch waist (72 inches in length)
To shorten, simply cut the end with scissors and melt the end with a lighter.
