Side Release Buckle Belt made with 3/4 inch Heavyweight Polypropylene Webbing. Heavyweight Polypropylene webbing 3/4 inch has a breaking strength of 675 pounds with a thickness of 0.060 of an inch. Metal and Plastic Side Release Buckles are not rated.
Side Release Buckles are one of Strapworks' most popular items. When combined with strapworks' Flat Nylon, Heavyweight, Lightweight Polypropylene, Polyester, or Patterned Polyester webbing, you get a versatile Side Release Buckle Belt that are suitable for a wide range of applications. They are available in the following buckle styles: Black single adjust 3/4 inch, white single adjust 3/4 inch, Black contoured single adjust 3/4 inch, metal/plastic hybrid 3/4 inch, aluminum 3/4 inch. These can also double as a quick tie-down strap or lashing in a pinch. These belts are also Airport/Metal Detector Safe.
If used other than belts, keep in mind the characteristics of the different types of webbing.
Side Release Buckle Belts made with heavyweight polypropylene webbing are suitable for medium duty applications. It has excellent UV protection and does not absorb water quickly. However, polypropylene does not have good abrasion resistance, so it is not recommended for use against rough edges.
Strapworks’ "Patterned Polyester" is polyester that has been sublimated. Sublimation is a process that virtually tattoos the ink into the webbing by turning a solid ink into a permeating gas. This process is done in house and it allows for great detail and vivid custom colorfast colors. Polyester is the only material we carry that is consistent in its ability to be sublimated.
Side Release Buckle Belts made with polyester webbing has the same attributes and characteristics as patterned polyester. Strapworks' polyester webbing is also sublimated, but is sublimated in solid colors. Polyester has all of the benefits of Flat Nylon, high breaking strength, high abrasion resistance, soft, smooth, and shiny. It also has the benefits of polypropylene, low water absorption, high UV protection, and it is also mildew and rot resistant.
Belt sizes are as follows:
- Regular:.....up to 38 inch waist (48 inches in length)
- Large:........up to 48 inch waist (60 inches in length)
- XLarge:......up to 60 inch waist (72 inches in length)
To shorten, simply cut the end with scissors and melt the end with a lighter.
