When you need strength, durability and versatility, choose polypropylene webbing from Strapworks. Polypropylene webbing is available in 4 varieties including standard lightweight polypropylene, standard heavyweight polypropylene, super polypropylene or high tenacity polypropylene. While the varieties of polypropylene vary in thickness and strength, all types are mold, mildew, moisture and rot resistant, making them excellent choices for outdoor applications. Combine your polypropylene strap with a metal or plastic buckle to create a custom strap.
Webbing Lengths over 30 ft may contain splices. If you wish not to receive splices on lengths over 30 ft please specify in "order notes".
Standard lightweight and heavyweight polypropylene webbing meshes are available in a variety of widths and colors including woodland camouflage. They have a high breaking strength and a low price point. The narrowest heavyweight mesh available measures 1/2-inch wide and has a breaking strength of approximately 450 pounds. The next size up measures 3/4-inch wide and has a breaking strength of 675 pounds. Thin poly webbing straps are ideal for making adjuster straps or for modifying cargo or carrying bags. The breaking strength and working load increases in proportion to the width of the strap. Mesh rolls measure approximately 300 feet in length and may contain splices. If you wish to order a roll of polypropylene longer than 30 feet and do not want splices, please specify this in your order under "order notes".
Super polypropylene is thicker and stronger than standard polypropylene. It is available in 1-inch widths only and features a 1500 pound breaking strength and a 500 pound working load. The recommended working load is approximately 1/3 of the breaking strength. This mesh measures 0.8 inches thick.
High tenacity polypropylene straps are the most durable type available. It is available in 1 or 2-inch lengths and only comes in black with yellow tracer lines. The breaking strength of 1-inch high tenacity mesh is 1750 pounds. The working load is 580 pounds. The breaking strength of 2-inch high tenacity mesh is an impressive 4,000 pounds with a working load of 1300 pounds. Though high tenacity polypropylene is slightly thicker than standard heavyweight polypropylene, its improved strength more than makes up for the added thickness. High tenacity polypropylene also features a coarser and more robust we've for a better grip.
