Ratchet Straps made with heavyweight polypropylene webbing are suitable for medium duty outdoor applications. Heavyweight polypropylene webbing has excellent UV protect and does not absorb water quickly giving it better better resistant to mildew and rot resistance. However, polypropylene does not have good abrasion resistance, so it is not recommended for use against rough edges.
Ratchet straps made with flat nylon webbing
is the webbing of choice for high abrasion applications. It is not recommended for use in or around water continuously because it is less water resistant, making it susceptible to mildew and rot.
Strapworks’ "Patterned Polyester
" is polyester that has been sublimated. Sublimation is a process that virtually tattoos the ink into the webbing by turning a solid ink into a permeating gas. This process is done in house and it allows for great detail and vivid custom colorfast colors. Polyester is the only material we carry that is consistent in its ability to be sublimated.
Ratchet Straps made with polyester webbing has the same attributes and characteristics as patterned polyester. Strapworks' polyester webbing is also sublimated, but is sublimated in solid colors. Polyester has all of the benefits of Flat Nylon, high breaking strength, high abrasion resistance, soft, smooth, and shiny. It also has the benefits of polypropylene, low water absorption, high UV protection, and it is also mildew and rot resistant.
The sublimation process may take an extra 2-3 days to fulfill your order.
