Side Release Buckle Straps

Side release buckle straps are a functional strap that use a quick-release strap buckle. From backpacks to duffle bags to tie downs, you will find an extensive selection of side release buckle straps at Strapworks. Side release buckle straps are available in many different designs. This style of strap typically utilizes a quick release strap buckle sewn to the end of the webbing. These side release buckle straps are simple to use. Since you are using a buckle, you would feed the detached end around any object and back to the buckle again, securing the object or bag.

Side release buckle straps are designed so that once the webbing is fed through the slots in the buckle a simple pulling action on the loose end is all that is needed to tighten the strap to secure your load. The adjuster slots on the quick release strap buckle grips the webbing as you tighten, giving you the confidence you need for your application. Once the webbing is tight it will not slip until you work slack into the adjuster. Side release buckle straps are used in light to medium applications where you need something held securely, but also require a quick release option.

At Strapworks, you can put together your ideal side release buckle strap by picking the webbing and size that best suits your application. Be sure to consider the pros and cons of each to find the perfect side release buckle strap for your particular job.

Flat Nylon:
Flat nylon is best used for higher abrasion applications. It is not recommended to use in or around water continuously because it absorbs water quickly, causing rot and mildew. It can also stretch up to 2% of its length when wet (submerged in water multiple times). However, if you need a heavy duty strap for a "beefy" job, this webbing is for you. Flat nylon has a thickness of .070 - .075 of an inch and its breaking strength on flat nylon ranges from 2275lbs. - 5500lbs.

Available Sizes: 3/4 INCH - 1 INCH - 1-1/2 INCH - 2 INCH

Heavyweight Polypropylene:
Heavyweight polypropylene is great to use in the outdoors. It has excellent UV protection and it doesn't absorb water quickly giving it resistance to rot and mildew. The abrasion resistance isn't very high, so we recommend not using this material against rough edges. Heavyweight polypropylene webbing is perfect for medium duty applications. It has a thickness of .060 of an inch and its breaking strength ranges from 675lbs. - 1800lbs.

Available Sizes: 3/4 INCH - 1 INCH - 1-1/2 INCH - 2 INCH

Lightweight Polypropylene:
Lightweight polypropylene is also an excellent choice for outdoor applications. It differs from the heavyweight polypropylene by breaking strength and stiffness. Other than that, it has all the same specs as the heavyweight polypropylene. Lightweight polypropylene is .040 of an inch thick and its breaking strength ranges from 375lbs. - 750lbs.
