Nylon webbing is affordable and versatile making it one of the most popular types of webbing on the market. Strapworks carries a large selection of nylon webbing products to choose from including flat nylon webbing, military style, seatbelt webbings, mil spec 4088, tubular nylon webbing, scuba style and tape. All nylon webbings melt at 380 degrees Fahrenheit, but the strength, available widths, suitable uses and colors vary with each variety.

In general, the wider the webbing, the more material present and the higher the breaking strength. Breaking strength is a measure of maximum force that can be applied to the webbing before breakage is expected. The recommended work load is approximately 1/3 of the breaking strength. By paying attention to the recommended work load, breakage can be minimized to extend the life of the nylon webbing.

Unlike other types of webbing, nylon webbing stretches as it is used. Because of the added stretch, a tightening device like a loop or an adjuster should be included on all straps. Nylon is also affordable and is one of the most common webbing materials.
