Flat Nylon Webbing

Polypropylene Webbing

Flat Nylon webbing is great for high abrasion applications. It is not recommended to use in or around water continuously because it absorbs water quickly, causing mildew and rot if not taken care of. Flat nylon will also stretch up to 2% of its length when the webbing is saturated.
Flat Nylon facts:

  • Thickness of 0.070 to 0.075 of an inch
  • Breaking strength from 1400 to 5500 pounds
  • Melting point of 480 degrees fahrenheit
  • Choice of 34 colors depending on the width of webbing
Strapworks, at this time, carries 7 different widths: 3/8 inch, 1/2 inch, 5/8 inch, 3/4 inch, 1 inch, 1-1/2 inch, and 2 inch. Not all colors are available in all widths.

Polypropylene webbing is great for outdoor applications. It is available in 2 styles: Heavyweight, and Lightweight. Polypropylene has excellent UV protection, and it does not absorb water, giving it resistance to mildew and rot. It has low stretch, especially when wet. Polypropylene does not have a high abrasion resistance, so it is not recommended for use around rough edges. This webbing is good for medium duty applications.
Polypropylene facts:
Heavyweight:

  • Thickness of 0.060 of an inch
  • Breaking Strength range of 675 to 1800 pounds

Polyester Webbing

Seat Belt Polyester Webbing

Sublimated Solid Color Polyester webbing is ideal for heavy loads with high abrasion. Polyester webbing has the same soft, smooth feel, and shiny appearance of Flat nylon. It also has the benefits of Polypropylene, low water absorption, and excellent mildew and rot resistance. Only Polyester allows Sublimation, a process that virtually tattoos the ink into the webbing by turning a solid ink into a permeating gas. This process is done in-house with our own proprietary patterns, logos, and designs. Please send custom patterns, logos, and design requests to custom@strapworks.com. The sublimation process may take an extra 3 days to a week to fulfill your order and the webbing color may vary from print to print.
Solid Color Polyester webbing facts:
  • Thickness of 0.040 to 0.080 of an inch
  • Breaking strength from 1500 to 10,000 pounds
  • Melting point of 500 degrees fahrenheit
  • 5x time the abrasion resistance as flat nylon webbing
  • Choice of 12 stock colors
Strapworks, at this time, carries 8 different widths: 3/8 inch, 1/2 inch, 5/8 inch, 3/4 inch, 1 inch, 1-1/2 inch, 2 inch, and 2 inch (10K)

Seat Belt Polyester Webbing weave is lighter in weight than the regular polyester, but close in strength. Low stretch, low absorption rate, non-porous fiber, and high strength makes this an excellent choice for outdoor uses as well!
