Description Technical Specs
Ratchet Only Strap made with 1-1/2 inch Polyester Seat Belt Webbing.

Ratchet Only Strap made with 1-1/2 inch Polyester Seat Belt Webbing. Polyester seat belt webbing 1-1/2 inch has a breaking strength of 4500 pounds with a thickness of 0.030 to 0.050 of an inch.

These ratchet straps differ from our standards in that they do not have end hardware. Therefore, "Ratchet Only". These are great as perimeter straps. They work with tree stands for hunters, as pallet straps, tank straps, etc. With this strap you are ordering the ratchet strap made of 1 1/2" Seat Belt webbing. The seat belt webbing has high abrasion resistance that works well for the above applications. It also has excellent UV protection, and does not absorb water. For more information on the measurements and how to use, please click on the technical specs tab. A strap is only as strong as its weakest link. A guide line for finding a safe working load is to take the breaking strength and divide it by one third. For example, Strapworks’ Polyester Seat Belt webbing 1-1/2 inch has a breaking strength of 4500 pounds, so a safe working load is 1500 pounds. You also need to consider your hardware and stitching. The 1-1/2 inch Ratchet Buckle is rated at 4400 pounds. You also need to calculate your safe working load for your buckles and your stitching. When in doubt, buy 1 strap and test it for your application. For information on the 1-1/2 inch ratchet buckle, click here.
Please keep in mind the characteristics of the different types of webbing when ordering straps.
Ratchet Only Straps made with polyester seatbelt webbing The 1-1/2 inch Seatbelt weave webbing is lighter in weight than the regular polyester, but close in strength.  Low stretch, low absorption rate, non-porous fiber, and high strength makes this an excellent choice for outdoor uses as well!
Ratchet Only Straps made with heavyweight polypropylene webbing are suitable for medium duty outdoor applications. Heavyweight polypropylene webbing has excellent UV protect and does not absorb water quickly giving it better better resistant to mildew and rot resistance. However, polypropylene does not have good abrasion resistance, so it is not recommended for use against rough edges.

Ratchet only straps made with flat nylon webbing is the webbing of choice for high abrasion applications. It is not recommended for use in or around water continuously because it is less water resistant, making it susceptible to mildew and rot.

Ratch Only Straps made with patterned polyester webbing are perfect for heavy loads with high abrasion. Polyester has the best attributes of flat nylon (abrasion resistance) and heavyweight polypropylene (UV protection, water resistance).

Strapworks’ "Patterned Polyester" is polyester that has been sublimated. Sublimation is a process that virtually tattoos the ink into the webbing by turning a solid ink into a permeating gas. This process is done in house and it allows for great detail and vivid custom colorfast colors. Polyester is the only material we carry that is consistent in its ability to be sublimated.
The sublimation process may take an extra 2-3 days to fulfill your order. For more information on sublimation and custom designed straps, please email

Choosing the Buckle Pad option will add a sewn section of Black Heavyweight Polypropylene under the buckle area to protect anything beneath it from scratching.
