Description Technical Specs

Ratchet Only Strap made with 2 inch Heavyweight Polypropylene Webbing.

Ratchet Strap made with 2 inch Heavyweight Polypropylene Webbing. Heavyweight polypropylene webbing 2 inch has a breaking strength of 1800 pounds with a thickness of 0.060 of an inch.

If you are searching for a reliable strap that is ideal for outdoor use, then don't look any farther than the two inch ratchet straps with heavyweight polypropylene webbing from Strapworks.com. These 1 - 100 foot ratchet straps are the best choice for securing cargo to trailers, trucks, cars and well you name it. These cargo ratchet straps will give you a firm hold along with the self-confidence that comes with knowing your professional cargo or personal belongings will stay put for the duration of the journey.

The Strapworks' ratchet buckle allows you to tighten the strap with ease. A quick release mechanism means you also don't have to worry about releasing tension whenever you want or when it's time to upload. Two inch ratchet straps are excellent for medium duty applications. Strapworks' two inch ratchet straps are made from heavyweight polypropylene webbing. With heavyweight polypropylene, you get webbing that is specifically designed for outdoor use. So, go ahead and use it to secure you vacation luggage to the roof of the car. Heavyweight polypropylene webbing also features excellent UV protection and low water absorption. This is an awesome feature since it means heavyweight polypropylene webbing offers better resistance to mildew and rot. However, heavyweight polypropylene webbing has poor abrasion resistance so it is not recommended for use against rough edges.

A strap is only as strong as its weakest link, so it's important to consider several factors when deciding which strap suits what job. A guide line for finding a safe working load is to take the breaking strength and divide it by one third. For example, Strapworks' two inch heavyweight polypropylene webbing has a breaking strength of 1800 pounds. Therefore, a safe working load for that strap is 600 pounds. You also need to consider your hardware and stitching. The two inch Ratchet Buckle is not rated. Make sure to calculate your safe working load for both the buckles and stitching. Whenever you are in doubt about the safe working load of a strap, buy one strap and test it for your application. For more information about the two inch ratchet buckle, please click here. The ratchet strap comes with or without a buckle pad sewn on. Your choice of end hardware for the two inch ratchet strap with heavyweight polypropylene webbing includes: coated S-hooks, stainless steel S-hooks, coated safety S-hooks, wire hooks, O-rings, metal beefy snaps.

Please keep in mind the characteristics of the different types of webbing when ordering straps.

Ratchet straps made with heavyweight polypropylene webbing are suitable for medium duty outdoor applications. Heavyweight polypropylene webbing has excellent UV protect and does not absorb water quickly giving it better resistant to mildew and rot resistance. However, polypropylene does not have good abrasion resistance, so it is not recommended for use against rough edges.

Ratchet straps made with flat nylon webbing are the webbing of choice for high abrasion applications. It is not recommended for use in or around water continuously because it is less water resistant, making it susceptible to mildew and rot.

Ratchet Straps made with patterned polyester webbing are perfect for heavy loads with high abrasion. Polyester has the best attributes of flat nylon (abrasion resistance) and heavyweight polypropylene (UV protection, water resistance).

Strapworks' "Patterned Polyester" is polyester that has been sublimated. Sublimation is a process that virtually tattoos the ink into the webbing by turning a solid ink into a permeating gas. This process is done in house and it allows for great detail and vivid custom colorfast colors. Polyester is the only material we carry that is consistent in its ability to be sublimated.

The sublimation process may require an extra 2-3 days to fulfill your order. For more information on sublimation and custom designed straps, please email custom@strapworks.com.

Choosing the buckle pad option will add a sewn section of black heavyweight polypropylene under the buckle area to protect anything beneath it from scratching.
